Pocket Beagles
Beware of buying pocket beagles often these
dogs are not even purebred beagles, but a cross with a
Chihuahua. If they are purebred beagles, they are made by
breeding runts.
Either way this dog is not very healthy. Many breed
associations prohibit breeders from advertising pocket beagles
or teacup beagles, because it is not a breed and it likely
means it is done with an unscrupulous mind.
If you do want to buy a pocket beagle buy one carefully and
make sure you get a health guarantee, as the long term health
of these dogs is questionable.
Try and contact other owners and see what their experiences
are. Don’t just take the breeders word for it, but really
examine if this is the type of dog you want to buy.
These dogs generally have a good attitude and are great if
you live in a small house or apartment.
It is not such a good breed if you have small children
around, as sometimes children will play too roughly with these
little dogs.
Since some of these dogs are crosses with Chihuahuas, they
may not look exactly like a miniature beagle, so be sure to ask
the breeder exactly how these pocket Beagles were bred.
