Teacup Beagle

A teacup Beagle or pocket beagle as some people call them are very small dogs reaching only about 10 inches tall. Normal sized beagles reach about 13 to 15 inches tall.

Teacup Beagles reach about 5 to 15 pounds, normal beagles weigh about 25 to 45 pounds.

Prices for these dogs start at about $300 and up, depending on color and size. Teacup Beagles are not recognized by the AKC. They only recognize the 13” and 15” sizes.

Teacup Beagles are made by breeding runts together to maintain their small stature. You simple just keep breeding the smallest Beagles you can find until you get a stable size.

These dogs do not tend to bark as much as normal sized Beagles, and are more to keep indoors, although they do well outside as well.

They are normally available in all the traditional Beagle colors: tri-colored, lemon, chocolate and white, blue and white, and blue ticked.

As with any dog, before you buy them you should get some type of health guarantee. You have to be even more aware of the possibilities of health problems with these teacup dogs.

Although the breeders say they are healthy dogs, some dog owners say they have had big problems. If you do decide to buy a Teacup Beagle, just be aware of this.
