Problems When Training Beagles

Beagles present some special challenges as a breed. It is true that most beagle are not as easy to train as other breeds of dogs. Why is this? Well beagles are often very single minded and once they get distracted either by a scent or a noise they are often off to themselves and sometimes it can be hard to get their attention back.

To solve the problem of the beagles short attention span you have to keep your training sessions short and in an area with few distractions. You also have to make the reward you are giving out fantastic so the beagle thinks it is worthwhile to pay attention to you.
